What types of payment are accepted?

Do we have a cancellation and no-show policy?

Yes. Clients will be billed $50 for any therapy or counseling session that they cancel with less than 24 hours notice, as well as if they fail to show up for any scheduled appointment. This fee will be billed to the credit card we have on file for a client or billed to the address you've provided if no card is on file.
Appointments made the same day will be charged the cancellation policy if a client does not show up.
To cancel an appointment (including over a weekend) you need to address the issue through the client portal or call and leave a voicemail. If you decide you need to cancel a Monday appointment, you need to contact us and leave a message by the appropriate time on the Sunday before.
While we hate to have a cancellation policy, it is important to ensure that our limited availability does not get wasted and to avoid prohibiting someone desiring to be seen from being seen during that time.

How long is a therapy or counseling session?

Typically, sessions runs approximately 50-60 minutes. In the case of an initial assessment, it can take up to 2 hours.

Do We Prescribe Medication?

With regard to some cases, medication can be a very important part of treating some psychological conditions; we are not licensed to write prescriptions. Virtually, no marriage therapist, professional counselor, psychologist, or social worker in Arkansas can prescribe medication.
The only professionals in Arkansas that can legally prescribe medication are medical doctors such as your general practitioner, OB/GYN, or a licensed psychiatrist. Unfortunately, most of these individuals do not offer any type of therapy or counseling on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
Thus, we work closely with your medical professional to help monitor prescriptions that only they can prescribe and adjust. If you want us to serve in this capacity, we require you to sign a "Consent to Release Information" that gives us written permission to communicate with your medical professional.

Is therapy and counseling effective?

Therapy and counseling is a joint effort. Although there is no guarantee that therapy or counseling will work for any one individual, couple, or family, with consistency, open-mindedness and willingness, the chances are greater to recover and/or be better able to manage psychological disorders, relational problems etc.
Ordinarily, the strength to change lies in each individual. Therapy and counseling help to remove roadblocks to change through well-established and time-tested therapeutic techniques coupled with an environment that is conducive to change.

Are therapy and counseling sessions confidential?

Yes. With the exception of the following :
Any information communicated by email, voicemail, or other forms of written communication may be viewed by staff other than your specific therapist, including supervisors and support staff that do not hold a clinical license but help schedule appointments, process billing, etc.
Child and Elder Abuse / Neglect – If, in the process of therapy or counseling, ongoing child or elder abuse or neglect is disclosed, we are required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities.
Duty to Warn Situations – If a client discloses to us that they or someone else is planning on harming themselves or someone else; we are bound by law to notify the authorities and the intended victim.
Consent is Provided – If all adults involved in a therapy or counseling relationship give written permission for us to discuss their treatment with someone else, we will do so. If only one adult party gives permission, we cannot discuss it with outside parties.

PLEASE NOTE : We charge a rate of $1,000 per day to attend court proceedings on behalf of clients, regardless of how long they are needed for. This fee is payable in advance of their appearance and is the responsibility of individual or attorney who makes the request.

What is the difference between therapy and counseling ?

Counseling is usually brief and targets a specific behavior or problem. Therapy typically is longer term treatment that is more intense and targets chronic problems. The focus is mostly on the individual thought process, feelings, behaviors and way of being in the world rather than a specific problem.
